We're pleased to announce that bookings are now open for a brand-new, highly practical one-day course designed to strengthen the core theatre skills of equine nurses. Practical theatre nursing will take place on Monday 13 April 2026 at Newmarket Equine Hospital, offering a full day of immersive, small-group teaching.
Created RVNs and student nurses, the course combines essential theory with an extended practical focus. After a focused theory lecture, delegates will move into four hours of hands-on workshops, rotating through practical stations to refine theatre techniques such as instrument handling, gloving and gowning, bandaging, trolley organisation, and post-operative care. This structure ensures that every participant will gain substantial hands-on experience under the guidance of experienced tutors.
Interactive discussions and real-life case scenarios will further enhance learning, while small group sizes allow for personalised guidance and peer networking.
The course is organised by Sophie Haylock REVN, with teaching from Rosina Lilywhite, Shannon Mitchell, and Marie Rippingale.
