The Association of Racecourse Veterinary Surgeons (ARVS) have issued the following statement regarding next year's Casualty Management Seminar...
As there was no CMS in 2020, due to the pandemic, there are no “5 year renewals” this year. No renewal notices have been sent out. However, we would like people to be aware that in the 2 years following, we held 3 CMS to catch up with those not able to renew when they were due. BHA issued dispensations to those vets not able to attend in 2020.
We will not be holding 2 CMS in one year again, and for the next couple of years certainly, we will only be taking 120 delegates on each CMS meeting. In 2021/2022, 350 delegates attended CMS. Each year, approximately 1/3 of the delegates are newly attending vets, not renewals.
If you attended in 2021 or 2022 and you are able to attend CMS early – this year – it will greatly help the situation next year and in 2027. We will not open the next registration until CMS has been completed for that year, and will not take advance bookings for the following year. BHA have also informed us that they will not be issuing dispensations for those not renewing their accreditation on time.
Please contact secretary@arvs.org.uk if you would like to register.
Also, possibly for this year only, we are encouraging entries from those vets not yet 5 years qualified, as good CPD for all equestrian casualty management, so younger vets may be encouraged to attend.
