Dechra issues Class II recall of products for horses

The VMD has issued the below statement following the recall of Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC products.

We wish to inform wholesalers that Dechra Pharmaceuticals PLC has initiated a Class II recall to wholesaler level with immediate effect for the following products:

• Ophtocycline 10 mg/g eye ointment for dogs, cats and horses, Vm41821/4043

• Equipalazone 200 mg/ml Solution for Injection Vm50406/3037 & Vm50406/5042

The reason for the recall is due to an increased risk of microbial contamination in the aseptically manufactured products at the site of the contracted manufacturer, in the period from 01/2024 to 05/2025.
