The Réseau D’Épidémio-surveillance en Pathologie Équine (RESPE) has issued a call for vigilance to the French equine industry following confirmation of a further case of Equine Infectious Anaemia (EIA) in a department that is epidemiologically linked to cases confirmed in April. Four cases linked to this incident have so far been identified and euthanised as per standard control protocol. There are ongoing investigations and some impact locally on events in the vicinity of the affected premises but apparently no immediate implications for British sports horses.
