VETERINARY PRACTICE MANAGER PINKHAM EQUINE
Pay: £32,000.00-£45,000.00 per year

Overview
We are looking for our next Practice Manager! We are a friendly team providing excellence in equine veterinary care for our patients and an outstanding level of service for all our clients. We are seeking an experienced and well organised Manager to step into this key non-clinical role that provides support to all the clinical functions and manages the non-clinical functions within the practice. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of veterinary support staff, ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining financial health, and upholding the highest standards of patient care. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong leadership skills to contribute to a well-established practice committed to delivering exceptional veterinary services. The ideal applicant will possess supervisory experience, management expertise, and a solid understanding of financial and human resources management, ideally within a veterinary setting.
Responsibilities
• Supervise and lead the support team, including administrators and equine veterinary nurses, stepping into roles to maintain space/cover holidays for colleagues when needed. This can be a 'hands on' role and requires a Manager willing to pitch in.
• Oversee daily operations to ensure efficient and high standards are upheld.
• Ensuring standards of customer care, including prompt and knowledgeable responses to day-to-day equine veterinary queries from both business and consumer clients.
• Human resource management that keeps people happy, including team recruitment, contracts of employment and onboarding, holiday scheduling and performance appraisals.
• Efficient financial management including monitoring financial procedures including billing, invoicing, debt management and budgeting, in liaison with our Altano Group (of which we are a member) experts.
• Efficient asset management including vehicle maintenance and allocation scheduling.
• Contributing to strategic planning when required,
• The Practice Manager oversees regulatory compliance and has overall responsibility to ensure that health & safety procedures are in place and regularly reviewed.
Qualifications
• Proven managerial experience within a veterinary or healthcare environment (Minimum 5 years) ESSENTIAL
• Working knowledge of equine management and common ailments ESSENTIAL
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment ESSENTIAL
• Exceptional communication skills with a professional approach towards clients and colleagues ESSENTIAL
• Proven supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to recruit, retain and lead a skilled and knowledgeable team, including seasonal workers, effectively and with empathy. ESSENTIAL
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail ESSENTIAL
• Working knowledge of thoroughbred breeding DESIRABLE
• Degree or equivalent (ILML5 etc) in a veterinary or business-related subject HIGHLY DESIRABLE
• Book-keeping qualification and experience DESIRABLE
• Knowledge of professional standards in veterinary industry (RCVS guidelines and Code of Conduct) and health & safety standards relevant to veterinary practices DESIRABLE
• Experience of the skilled worker visa and licenced sponsor procedures DESIRABLE
