Ranked in the top 20 veterinary schools worldwide, we have a particular focus on pasture-based livestock systems. We're looking for an internationally respected academic leader in dairy cattle health to shape the future of teaching, research, and industry impact.

You'll be at the forefront of bovine health and production and will lead ambitious research, mentor the next generation of veterinary scientists, and collaborate with industry and government to create solutions that make a real difference.

The opportunity - Te Whiwhinga mahi

You will:

  • lead an impactful, interdisciplinary research programme in dairy cattle health; advancing understanding in areas such as infectious disease, epidemiology, production, public health, or welfare in pasture-based systems
  • partner with industry, government, and global collaborators to improve dairy cattle health and develop solutions for emerging health challenges
  • supervise postgraduate research, mentor emerging academics, and deliver innovative teaching in veterinary science
  • secure competitive research funding and lead high-impact publications influencing policy and practice.

About you - Ko koe tēnei:

  • Veterinary degree (eligible for registration in New Zealand) and a PhD (or equivalent)
  • A globally recognised record in dairy cattle and farm animal health research
  • Proven leadership in university-level teaching, postgraduate supervision, and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Commitment to the sustainable advancement of pasture-based bovine production systems
