We are a busy veterinary practice and stud based in Westonbirt, Gloucestershire encompassing a first opinion sports horse practice covering all aspects of ambulatory equine work, a busy APHA approved specialist embryo collection and semen freezing centre with a high success rate and a very high quality of service for all broodmares, donor mares, stallions and foals and an on-site stud consisting one of the top recipient mare herds in the United Kingdom and stallion services.

We boast a team of specialist equine reproduction vets, clinical vets and laboratory technicians as well as specialist stallion handlers, stud grooms and efficient administration staff. Working together, this team offers high standards and excellent results.

This is a new role within the business and an exciting opportunity for an Office / HR Manager with strong organisational skills and a proactive management style to manage the day to day running of the centre.

Key Responsibilities:

• general management of office and staff including vets

• HR including recruitment, staff induction, compliance with employment and health and safety regulations

• marketing

The ideal candidate must have:

• Proven experience of Office and HR management and the challenges of running a busy operation with strong personalities

• Good attention to detail

• Strong computer skills including Microsoft software especially Excel

• The ability to deal with situations in a discreet, confidential and compliant way.

• Background with horses (not necessarily work related)

• A highly organised approach with good planning skills, the ability to develop, communicate and manage those plans and the focus to drive and see things through to completion

• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

• Confidence with all aspects of personnel management, excellent leadership skills and knowledge of staff development

• Strong communication skills both verbal and written and focus on delivering exceptional customer service

Full time, permanent.  Salary: competitive, experience dependent.
