Full or Part time 100% equine vet wanted to join our clinic. Based just outside Axminster in beautiful Devon our independent equine practice provides ambulatory equine services with in-clinic facilities for work ups, surgery etc.
One of our team is moving into the charity sector to pursue her passion for welfare work, and we are in search of a positive, ethical, organised, and enthusiastic ambulatory equine vet. Full time is 4 ½ days a week, 1 in 8 Rota, with a day off in lieu after a weekend on call. We aim for the highest level of patient and client care possible but recognise that our team is our main asset. We are aiming for a fulfilling professional career coupled with a good work life balance and we think we’ve got it right!
We are interested in applicants from a range of backgrounds with experience always appreciated but we could also suit a more recent graduate or someone wishing to move from mixed practice to 100% equine; willingness to learn and look after clients more fundamental to the role. We already know the value of part time colleagues, so the working hours can be flexible.
Our team already has a wealth of and breadth of knowledge including an Advanced Practitioner in Equine Dentistry, and an Equine Stud Certificate. As a result, we are keen to support a new vet in any area of expertise they wish to pursue, both with day-to-day cases to funded CPD including if desired further qualifications such as CertAVP or BAEDT.
We also have the support of a wonderful nursing team who are there to help us clinically both in the practice and out on the road. Our nursing and admin team also help us with insurance forms and bookings, allowing our vets to concentrate on clinical work.
Within the clinic we have our own laboratory, stocks room, knock down box, inpatient stables and surgical theatre. With our own gastroscope, endoscope, ultrasound machines, laser therapy and surgery and digital X-ray. Enabling you to work up your own cases or refer within the team. We also work closely with local referral centres ensuring good case continuity.
Not only do we have a friendly supportive team but we also have lovely clients and are part of a kind, caring community.
Salary dependant on experience £33000-£50000. Vehicle provided if needed.
