Avenel Equine Hospital is in the heart of Victoria’s thoroughbred breeding region about an hour north of Melbourne and provides multidisciplinary specialist services alongside a comprehensive ambulatory service to our local clients. The hospital team consists of veterinary specialists in internal medicine and surgery with a wealth of experience in equine surgery, medicine, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, lameness, and reproduction. The veterinary team is supported by nursing, stable, and laboratory staff. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Equine Veterinarian to join the Ambulatory/Reproduction team from July 2025 to January 2026. The role would suit someone with a background and/or strong interest in equine reproduction / stud medicine. This role would be predominantly servicing thoroughbred stud farms. Avenel Equine Hospital focuses on building strong relationships with these farms and their team. You would be well supported by experienced colleagues based at Avenel Equine Hospital. There is autonomy in your role to manage your workload, clients, and patients. There is a dedicated office space and a team of support people to assist with administration, supplies and equipment.
Qualifications, skills and experience
Veterinary Degree and registered with the Victorian Veterinary Practitioners Board
At least 2 years’ experience in equine reproduction and stud medicine. Ideally, experience working on Thoroughbred Farms.
