Equine Vet - Tullyraine Equine Clinic - Northern Ireland

Vet
06 Jun 2025 BEVA

RE-ADVERTISED

Tullyraine Equine Clinic is based in beautiful Northern Ireland and we are looking for a colleague to replace our youngest vet who is leaving to travel the world.

We are NI’s largest and proudly independent equine clinic, with 5 full time equine vets. We have a super enthusiastic and experienced support team as well as a great and varied client base.

We aim to provide our clients with excellent and sound equine veterinary expertise, and we believe we have the best of all worlds when it comes to equine medicine:

  • First opinion and referral cases, ambulatory and in our purpose-built clinic. These include PPEs, sports medicine, internal medicine, dentistry and much more.
  • In-house surgical facilities with elective surgeries performed by us, as well as by visiting specialists for more specialist surgeries.
  • Stud facilities adjacent to the clinic.
  • Racecourse work, IHB stallion and mare panels, sales panels, and providing cover for local sporting events.
  • We are proud to provide our own OOH service, which is generally not overly busy and equally shared between all vets.

Our rota and working hours allow for plenty of personal time, socialising, travelling and staying fit. The vet who was on call over the weekend, has the following Wednesday off in lieu and every vet has an allocated afternoon admin each week to catch up on paperwork.

Our ideal candidate has the following strengths:

  • A team player who has a broad skills base, has horse sense and is enthusiastic about learning, improving their skill sets and confidence.
  • A person who has either completed an equine internship or has worked in mixed practice with a sufficient equine case load for at least 2 years. More experienced colleagues are also welcome to apply.
  • Someone who appreciates the importance of high standard veterinary work and client communication.

What we can offer the successful candidate:

  • Full time position
  • Competitive salary, tailored to experience (£35-55K/year)
  • OOH rota equally shared between 5 vets
  • 4 weeks holiday leave plus bank holidays
  • MRCVS/VDS/BEVA/IEVA memberships
  • CPD actively encouraged and paid for
  • Car supplied for work or work mileage options
  • Development of individual work interests encouraged and supported
