Equine Vet – Hampden Equine Veterinary Practice – Buckinghamshire

Our brilliant Hampden Equine team are seeking an enthusiastic vet to join our friendly, large team. Due to wonderful colleagues moving on due to family commitments, we have a rare opportunity to become part of the Hampden family. We are a busy, 6 vet ambulatory practice with a clinic covering Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and surrounding counties. Our welcoming client base ranges from leisure horses, studs, racehorses and competition horses.

We have a caring and approachable team consisting of widely experienced vets; a strong, nursing team and a supportive office environment. Our team meets regularly for team meetings, journal clubs and social events to foster a positive team atmosphere. The vets and nurse teams are primarily ambulatory, with access to our well-equipped clinic as a base for case workups. Our team have access to all the mod-cons and will be trained to use our more extraordinary kit, such as our surgical laser, to support their development.

The role would suit a someone with a passion for high quality client service and an interest in a varied caseload. Our vets are encouraged to develop their own client base and work-up their cases with the regular support of the senior vets and RVNs. We run zone days for routine work to ensure efficiency and aim for case continuity to provide great care and satisfaction for both our clients and colleagues. The practice has a forward-thinking approach to further learning and keenly supports vets developing new services or undertaking post-graduate studies.

For the right candidate, we can offer a 5-day working week with a 1 in 6/7 OOH rota. The salary ranges from £34k to £60k, commensurate with experience. This package includes a vehicle, 33 days annual leave per annum, membership of wellbeing schemes, payment of RCVS and BEVA memberships and own-pet staff discount on veterinary care. The practice is open to part-time applicants.
