Equine Ambulatory Veterinarian (Permanent, Full-Time)

Location: Fermoy, Co. Cork.

Practice Type: Ambulatory Equine Practice. Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

Start Date: Immediate

 

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Equine Veterinarian to join our dedicated team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a well-established and progressive equine practice. You’ll play a vital role in reproductive medicine, stud work, and seasonal breeding programs, while also providing exceptional care in all aspects of general equine ambulatory work.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine and emergency ambulatory equine work for thoroughbred and sport-horse clients

• Reproductive scanning and AI (fresh, chilled, and frozen)

• Foal and neonatal care including emergency medicine

• Lameness examinations; including nerve blocks and diagnostic imaging

• Endoscopy; upper airway evaluations and sampling

• Pre-purchase examinations (inc full x-ray sets)

Requirements:

• Qualification: A relevant degree in veterinary medicine.

• VCI registered (or eligible)

• Minimum 3 years equine experience preferred, with reproduction/stud medicine experience

• Ability to independently workup lameness exams

• Proven expertise in digital radiography and endoscopy.

• Proven expertise in ultrasonography and equine reproductive techniques

• Strong communication and client relationship skills

• Team player with a professional and proactive approach

• Valid driving licence
