Equine Ambulatory Vet - Tom Walters Equine Vets - Chesire

Vet Ambulatory
15 Oct 2025 BEVA

We are looking for a full or part time equine ambulatory vet to join our practice based in Cheshire.

Salary is of course dependent upon experience with a range of between £40,000 to £75,000, ideally at least one year in practice preferred.

You’ll be working throughout the Cheshire and Staffordshire areas, amidst a team of 3 other vets. You will be equipped with the usual diverse range of clients upon whom you will practice your first opinion veterinary magic. To enable this, we will provide

exclusive use of a vehicle (available also for personal use) with the full array of mobile diagnostic equipment, laptop and mobile.

A choice between a one in three or one in four OOH rota (depending on how much you want to earn) can be made.

We are a small, established team with a low turnover of staff. We work closely together despite being an ambulatory practice and you will be able to rely on camaraderie and clinical guidance of the highest level. Honest, robust characters with

a good sense of humour and at least some intiative are sure to thrive alongside colleagues with a wealth of experience from years of equine specific practice. Handy also if you are mad about dogs, always a great conversation starter.

We are proud to be independent and have no plans to change things on this score, meaning the right candidate will enjoy clinical freedom and the ability to progress according to their personal contribution. Happy for applicants to speak with our current and

past vets to get a feel of our dynamic.

Offering –

  • Very competitive salary DOE
  • Professional memberships paid
  • Flexible start and finish times can be accomodated
  • 7 weeks annual leave in addition to our buy/sell holiday scheme.
  • Generous pension contributions
  • Exclusive use of vehicle with all costs covered (personal mileage charged where appropriate)
  • Time off accrued for OOH services
  • Support to pursue a specific field of practice compatible with the equine ambulatory environment.
