Equine Ambulatory Assistant

A terrific career opportunity has arisen with one of the busiest and friendliest equine ambulatory practices in the region. Ballinger Equine is a proudly independent multi-award-winning, progressive, RCVS Approved Graduate Development Practice with a reputation for clinical excellence and compassionate, client focussed care.

Due to continued steady growth, we seek an experienced or newly qualified equine veterinary surgeon to join our happy, caring and supportive team. Covering Hertfordshire, South Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, parts of Buckinghamshire, western Essex and Epping Forest, our current 5-vet clinical team works a 4-day week and a 1:4 rota.

The practice’s busy and varied caseload ranges across elite competition horses and racehorses, polo ponies, sports horses, leisure and pleasure horses and ponies.

Salary is generous and commensurate with experience. We also offer private health insurance, BEVA, VDS and a personal CPD budget with additional paid CPD leave.

Our vets drive new 4x4 trucks and are equipped with the best diagnostic imaging equipment, motorised dental kit and Class IV laser. We have a super support staff and an excellent IT and communications infrastructure. There’s ice-cream in the freezer and of course we observe cake, doughnut and fruit Fridays.

Our practice is set in beautiful surroundings in rural Hertfordshire, just a short hop from London, Cambridge or St Albans.

This is a fabulous opportunity to develop your clinical skills with the support and guidance of our experienced and highly regarded clinical director.

Interested? Call Dr Susanna Ballinger MRCVS in confidence on 07539 598007 (evenings preferably) for an informal chat. And feel free to talk to any of our clinical team for their views.

All applications to be emailed with a CV and covering letter to the practice Managing Director at a.hillier@ballingerequine.com
