EXPERIENCED Ambulatory Equine Vet – Home Farm Equine - Nottingham

Vet
30 May 2025 BEVA

We are expanding our 7 vet equine practice! Our purely ambulatory independent practice in the heart of the East Midlands is searching for an equine vet with a minimum of two years ambulatory and/or hospital experience to join our team.

You will be joining a team where we are able to tailor the level of support that you receive, giving you free rein to work up your own cases but also be able to ask for guidance and support should you require it. Your role will be hugely varied with an interesting caseload (without the hassle of inpatients!), covering several Olympic and international level sport horse yards through to leisure and companion ponies, together with racing yards and some of the best hunting country in the UK.

With our established team of vets, including an Internal Medicine Certificate holder and another two vets working towards their certificate, plus our dedicated office staff, we will help to support you at the level you require if needed. We are a friendly group that frequently discuss cases amongst ourselves, and we also have regular breakfast meetings that include journal discussions, specific case discussions, and drug rep meetings.

All our vets are kitted out with a fully equipped vehicle including an ultrasound machine each; as well as having the choice of 4 wireless digital radiography machines, 3 endoscopes and a gastroscope to take out on the road. You can enjoy full clinical freedom to work up cases entirely in the field, with backup from other vets as required. Well behaved dogs are also welcome!

With a friendly and sociable team, our practice is situated in the heart of the Vale of Belvoir and within easy reach of Nottingham City Centre; we are not far from the Peak District for the hikers amongst you!

Upon joining us, the successful candidate will be supplied with a vehicle, mobile phone and generous CPD allowance; RCVS, BEVA, BVA and VDS memberships. We can also assist with finding accommodation within the local areas.

You will have a gradual introduction to the out of hours rota which is shared on a 1:5/6 basis, with a day off in lieu for every weekend or bank holiday worked, alongside the normal 28 day (incl. Bank holidays) holiday allowance.

Interested applicants please email your CV to Matthew on info@homefarmequine.co.uk or call 0115 989 9411 for more information.
