BEVA’s Nurse Committee are looking for a new student member to join the Committee from October until qualification.
Our Nurse Committee are instrumental in identifying ways to improve the working life of equine veterinary nurses and health and welfare of our patients. Since our formation we have published new Schedule Three guidance and most recently a toolkit for EVNs attending civil emergencies. As a student member of the committee, you will be instrumental in voicing the opinions and needs of student veterinary nurses to ensure the next generation of EVNs feel supported and heard.
Eligibility criteria:
You must be enrolled with The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) as a student veterinary nurse. Must be enrolled with a college/university and working towards a qualification in equine veterinary nursing. Your application must also be supported by two BEVA members.
What’s expected from you:
• To attend committee meetings which occur on average 4 times per year (3 face to face and one in person meeting per year).
• To assist the Nurse Committee to explore the field of equine veterinary nursing and identify issues of relevance to equine health and the provision of veterinary care, where indicated to expand and develop these and to provide guidance to BEVA on behalf of its members and mission statement.
• To engage with external parties and the BEVA membership in respect of equine veterinary nursing.
• To actively engage in developing and delivering CPD on the subject of equine veterinary nursing.
• To represent BEVA at events and congresses.
• To actively engage in developing and improving the equine veterinary nursing profession.
