Ambulatory Internship – Lambourn Equine Vets - Berkshire

Ambulatory Intern Vet BEVA Recognised Internship
28 Oct 2025 BEVA

Ready to kick-start your equine veterinary career?

Lambourn Equine Vets (LEV) is offering an exciting 18-month ambulatory internship based in the heart of the Lambourn Valley, Berkshire. Join our friendly and experienced team of six vets and gain hands-on exposure to a wide variety of equine cases in a supportive and dynamic environment.

This is a unique opportunity to work alongside vets involved in racing, FEI and national competition cover, as well as GB team and World Class programmes. You’ll accompany our vets on the road, assist with lameness investigations, diagnostics, and performance horse care, and gradually take on your own routine appointments to build confidence and client communication skills.

Unlike traditional hospital-based internships, this role is fully ambulatory – no long hours standing in theatre or waiting on imaging. Instead, you’ll be out and about, learning from real-world cases and developing your clinical and practical skills with portable diagnostic equipment.

We offer:

• A 5-day working week

• Supportive mentorship from experienced clinicians

• A varied caseload including elite performance horses and general equine practice

• Local accommodation

• A fun, collaborative team culture

You’ll need to be hard-working, enthusiastic, and ready to learn. Must have experience handling horses and some prior veterinary experience is beneficial, but new graduates are welcome to apply. A full UK driving licence is essential – you’ll be driving our senior vets to calls.

Start date: Early 2026

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Location: Lambourn, Berkshire
