Ambulatory Equine Vet x 2
Due to practice growth, we are seeking 2 full-time new members of the team to join us at our ambulatory equine practice covering Central Scotland.
The first position would suit a veterinary surgeon with significant experience in equine practice ready to develop their own areas of interest while maintaining the varied balance that general first opinion practice brings. Certificate holders would be welcome and you would join our two Advanced practitioners (Equine Practice and Equine Internal Medicine) in offering in-depth case investigation and treatment options for our client base.
The second position would suit a more recent graduate. We would welcome applications from those with at least one year’s experience in equine practice and would be happy to provide the support needed to continue developing the applicant into an experienced veterinary surgeon. We would support further training with a generous CPD allowance and support with training for a certificate in a relevant designation.
Our practice:
• Independent equine first-opinion practice.
• You would be joining a team of three experienced full time equine vets.
• Covers a wide area of Central Scotland providing care to a high standard to a variety of client types. We currently do no racehorse work and have a low amount of breeding/stud work.
• Rota equally shared – this would be 1 in 4 weeknights and 1 in 4 weekends.
• Working hours are 8.30am-5pm and full-time veterinary surgeons will have one half day every week (so overall a 4.5 day working week).
• Vehicle provided.
• Usual high quality ambulatory equipment to enable you to do a thorough job on-yard.
• VDS, RCVS and BEVA memberships/fees covered.
• Generous CPD budget.
• Staff discount.
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
What we’d like from you:
• Ability to be a team player with excellent client communication skills and ability to work well with a variety of people.
• A willingness/desire to develop your own areas of interest.
• Be confident and engaged working with horses and within the equestrian community.
• Enjoy helping to develop and grow a thriving, dynamic independent equine practice.
• Experience working with horses already ideally in an equine ambulatory role.
• Be eligible for RCVS membership.
