This course will introduce you to rehabilitation as a means of making horses fit and able to perform at the top of their ability. We will look specifically at the muscular system and the importance of using muscles correctly to allow them to heal and develop, and how to support the horse in the future.
This is a unique opportunity for you to learn from members of the British Equestrian team squad, to discuss case selection, decision-making and who should be involved in the rehabilitation programme.
You will learn more about the use of training aids including the pros and cons of pessoas, side reins, rollers, kinesiotaping, tera bands and overreach boots, as well as the use of pole work and importance of correctly fitting tack, appropriate farriery and supportive nutrition. The days will finish with a ridden demonstration bringing together the on the ground assessments and techniques in the ridden situation.
