We’d love to hear from you!
MVS Equine is a large, purpose-built equine referral hospital located in the heart of New Zealand’s prime horse country on the North Island. Our diverse caseload spans Thoroughbred and Standardbred racing and breeding, along with a smaller but valued sport and pleasure horse population. Each year, our hospital cares for approximately 1200 in-patient cases.
Our extensive ambulatory services are backed by a highly skilled specialist team, including:
• Two board-certified surgeons
• A board-certified specialist in sports medicine and rehabilitation
• A consultant board-certified reproduction specialist
We are further supported by four interns and a dedicated team of nurses and support staff.
Our ambulatory veterinarians have access to advanced diagnostic and treatment tools such as digital radiography, ultrasonography, video-endoscopy, gastroscopy, and shockwave therapy. Cases benefit from full hospital facilities, including surgical suites, nuclear scintigraphy, an in-house laboratory, a purpose-built four-stall NICU, and a dedicated reproductive centre. After-hours duties are shared equally among the team.
At MVS Equine, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality service, exceptional patient care, and strong peer support. Applications are invited from veterinarians who are self-driven, eager to join a progressive practice, and excited to live and work in a thriving equine region. Please include your CV and the names of two referees.
Applicants must be eligible for registration with the New Zealand Veterinary Council.
