About this course

In collaboration with BEVA, this new Challenging Client Conversations – Communication Skills Equine course run by VDS explores the tools and techniques you need to effectively deal with the more challenging conversations equine vets may face.

During this course, we will study the reasons behind common communication barriers and how to overcome these in order to enhance your interactions. We will also look at ways of managing yourself and others through situations where clients are distressed or exhibiting challenging behaviours, and help you develop techniques to communicate your boundaries whilst maintaining empathy.

During this face-to-face (F2F) workshop, the skills and tools you have learnt on the day can be tested through simulated client consults using actors and role players in a non-judgmental and supportive space. This will help you to develop and practice new approaches.
