This advanced course is designed for surgeons and surgical residents who regularly perform colic surgery so that they can update their knowledge and skills. The course is based on David Freeman's popular course 'International Colic Surgery and Conference'. While the focus will be on small intestinal resection and anastomosis, the course will encompass a range of topics including jejunocolostomy, typhlotomy, jejunocaecostomy, revision of jejunocaecostomy, deep ileal resection or inversion, large colon resection and anastomosis, small colon resection and anastomosis, correction of caecocolic intussusception, jejunocolostomy, gastrotomy, small intestinal enterotomy, epiploic foramen enlargement, epiploic foramen closure with mesh, repeat celiotomy, complications of colic surgery, complicated abdominal access, aftercare, and ultrasonographic examination.
